Das Fachgebiet Siedlungswasserwirtschaft sucht schnellstmöglich studentische Hilfskräfte mit Erfahrungen im Bereich Mess- und Regelungstechnik sowie handwerklicher Begabung für die Mitarbeit bei der Planung und dem Aufbau von Versuchsanlagen.

Fourth Week of Environment 2012

PAUL visits the Federal President

On 5th and 6th July, about 200 Exhibitors will present their projects to protect environment and nature at the park of castle Bellevue, which is the official residence of the Federal President of Germany.

The "Week of Environment" is organised by the Office of the Federal President and the German Environment Foundation (DBU).

"About 550 firms, associations, institutes and initiatives have applied for this exhibition - over 100 applicants more than at the third 'Week of Environment' in 2007. This enormous interest is very welcome; it shows that the environment industry will be the leading market in the future", stated Dr.-Ing. E. h. Fritz Brickwedde, General Secretary of the DBU. An independent jury selected the applicants following criteria of quality, innovation and exemplarity.

We are proud to announce that "The Waterbackpack PAUL - Potable Water for people in disaster areas" is one of the selected projects.

"365 Orte im Land der Ideen" innovation contest

PAUL selected as category winner!

As part of yesterday's winner's selection ceremony in the contest "365 Orte im Land der Ideen" (365 places in the land of ideas), the project PAUL - drinkable water in disaster situations of the Department of Sanitary and Enviromental Engineering (DESEE) at the University Kassel was awarded as the federal winner in the category "society".

The ceremony took place in the headquarters of the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt/Main (Germany) and as President Christian Wulff was not able to be there, the award was given by Jürgen Fitschen (board member of the Deutsche Bank) and Holger Lösch (Head of the board of directors of "Deutschland - Land der Ideen").

Due to project related travels of Prof. Dr. Franz-Bernd Frechen to Indonesia, Dr. Wernfried Schier and the son of Mr. Frechen, Niklas Frechen, represented the project and recieved the award in the name of the Department of Sanitary and Enviromental Engineering.

The laudators especially emphasised the simplicity of the system in regards to comprehensibility and operation.

In his address, Dr. Schier thanked all current and former contributors of the last 10 years and accepted the award in their name and that of Prof. Frechen.

Niklas Frechen was also pleased to be able to represent his family in this ceremony and quoted his father with the words: "In all probability, one has such an idea only once in life".

Pakistanischer Botschafter zu Besuch bei PAUL und der UniK

Ausgewählter Ort 2011 - PAUL wurde ausgezeichnet !!! 

Kasseler Schulen und Kasseler Bürger machen sich stark für PAUL

Nach dem öffentlichen Spendenaufruf von Herrn OB Hilgen und Prof. Frechen im September 2010 für Wasserrucksäcke PAUL zur Linderung der Not in Pakistan haben sich Kassels Bürger phantastisch engagiert. Bisher kamen bei über 400 Einzelspenden rund 80.000 Euro zusammen.

Offenbar verstehen vor allem Kinder die Not ihrer Altersgenossen in den betroffenen Gegenden dieser Erde. Den Anfang hatte die Grundschule Kirchditmold gemacht (siehe eigenen Nachricht).  

Die größte Einzelspende kam durch den Spendenlauf zustande, den die Freie Schule Kassel veranstaltete. Lesen Sie dazu

"Unsere Hilfe für Pakistan: Waffeltag in unserer Schule" - Schulkinder der Grundschule Niederkaufungen backen für PAUL

Waffeln in der großen Pause gibt es in der Grundschule Niederkaufungen nicht jeden Tag. Aber am 07.10.2010 wurden mehr als 250 Waffeln gerührt, gebacken, verkauft und von den Schülern mit viel Appetit verspeist. Der Erlös der Aktion, stolze 320 Euro, wurde für PAUL, den Wasserrucksack gespendet. Am 24.11.2010 bedankte sich PAUL persönlich zusammen mit Dr. Wernfried Schier von der Universität Kassel bei den Grundschülern. Dr. Schier erklärte den interessierten "Waffelbäckern und Waffelbäckerinnen" wie PAUL arbeitet und wo er bereits arbeitet. Der Dank der Uni Kassel gilt Allen, Groß und Klein der Grundschule Niederkaufungen, die sich hier in toller Weise engagiert haben.

The class 4a of the elementary school Kirchditmold has collected for “PAUL for Pakistan”

The children have bound lavender bunches and have sold this to passers-by in Kirchditmold. That way they collected more than 300 Euros for the water backpack PAUL. Of course the children also had a lot of questions to the backpack which Prof. Frechen has answered on the 21st of September 2010 during a visit at the school. Besides, PAUL was also introduced practically. At the nearby creek he was immediately tested. The purified water tasted well.

 Excursion to IFAT ENTSORGA 2010 in Munich

The Department of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering organized an extensive excursion to IFAT ENTSORGA 2010 exhibition in munich with more than 30 students.  Many thanks to all donators who made this excursion possible!
